EXP 3 WEEK 4 - Final Submission Photos


 This image depicts the "facebook" side elevator. This elevator travels up and down only. It is used to travel the coca cola & facebook office clients. The reason for this was based upon my news article. Due to facebook and its advertising advantages, Coca cola are able to make themselves more powerful by using these advantages to their own benefit.

 This is a photo of the facebook headquarters. It is situated in a hill, being enclosed by the trees. This was ment to symbolise its hidden power, that it has through its various ways of advertising to help industries (such as coca cola) grow towards the public.

 This is the coca cola part of the elevator. This part travels to the middle, where the people have to change over to the Facebook elevator, so they can access the dining area. I did this, as Coca cola have power, but it is controlled through advertising and what not. Facebook help boost this power they have, hence it is symbolised in the elevators. Coca cola clients cannot travel down to the dining area, unless The facebook elevator is in place.

 This is an above angle shot of both the headquarters, and the dining area in the background, across the terrain which was inspired by Nubra Valley (See previous posts). The bridge hangs of both sides, with a supporting beam in the middle that carries across the elevator which connects to the coca cola headquarters.

 This image just shows the Facebook elevator declining as it comes down to the dining area for its clients. Note that the coca cola clients can only use the elevator, if it is there. They are unable to come to the dining area unless the facebook elevator carries them down. This depicts the powers of each company, and how facebook has some control over coca cola's ability to grow through its advertising.

EXP 3 WEEK 1 - Article Mashup

Facebook admitted shortly before its IPO that it wasn’t making any money on mobile advertising even as its users increasingly access the service from their smartphones and tablets. The consumer engagement model is changing. It’s really about networks, connectivity and conversations, and the combination creates scale through those connections. Games for smartphones, tablet computers and Facebook are becoming essential for major video game companies, but only about 32% of the world has a mobile phone so far, and most of them aren’t smartphones, so there’s plenty of opportunity. The reality is that we’re learning our way through this stuff. The consumer engagement model is changing, but it’s also quite early in the opportunities associated with skyrocketing use of mobile devices, whether it’s games or advertising or payments.  The companies best known for hard-core shooters and racing games can’t ignore those dynamics in the age of “Angry Birds” and “Words With Friends.” In all closure, It’s really about networks, connectivity and conversations, and the combination creates scale through those connections.

EXP 2 WEEK 3 - "Final cryENGINE Model"

Final Model in it's Environment




The model sits in the terrain, as if it just fits. The building seems to adapt to the terrain, to create a sense of connection and fluidity.

Zaha Hadid has an Islamic background, hence why i have included some aspects of Islamic architecture, onto the roof of Hadid's side of the building. This allows the light to shine through and create a unique type of shadow in the interior.

This relating back to Zaha Hadids concept of Fluidity, and Neutras Concept of Geometrical, I have aimed to create a fluid building, using geometrical spatial arrangements.

 The pictures above show the Islamic Architecture inspired roofing, which i had modeled for Zaha Hadids part of the Building. The other picture shows a shadow casting from the suns rays shining through the Islamic Architecture inspired roofing.
